The Requirements

To be a strong fit for the Oracle Programmer Analyst opportunity you will have: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of related experience in system development, business systems implementation / support and/or business analysis
  • Hands-on knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (specifically with Oracle HR/Payroll and Finance) technical tools including Forms, Reports, SQL, and PL/SQL Quick question for you - click here
  • Experience with database concepts and data modeling capabilities; data warehouse experience is strongly preferred Quick question for you - click here
  • Experience working with a relational database, including in depth knowledge creating and maintaining reports in a relational database
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and Stored Procedure code whether it is being maintained or created from scratch
  • Experience mapping multiple data sources from various data formats and normalizing the data into SQL Server databases
  • Expertise at troubleshooting and tuning existing SQL and identify opportunities to improve the performance
  • Comfort creating tables, indexes, views, triggers, stored procedures, functions and synonyms to add functionality to existing processes or make them run more efficiently
  • The ability to:
    • Design and write custom ETL processes from multiple data sources
    • Work collaboratively with business and IT professionals
    • Communicate clearly, confidently and effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Understand current processes and ask the necessary questions to identify where improvements can be made
    • Facilitate meetings and workshops in person and remotely
    • Think analytically, solve problems and recommend approaches and solutions
  • Some experience with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce.com) and cloud-based technologies
  • Working knowledge of standard software tools for source code management, continuous integration, and development

The Role

Reporting to the IT Manager, as the Oracle Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for providing database-centric solution development, designing, and maintaining reports, ETL processes and SQL tuning. You’ll utilize your experience and knowledge in the Oracle E-Business Suite -- specifically in the HR / Payroll and Financial areas -- to create reporting, design the data warehouse and extract data. You will help visualize the correct architecture and solutions that we need for the deliverables. 

One of your first initiatives will involve analyzing the reports for the Finance areas to ensure they are complete and accurate, and once that is completed you will move on to the HR/Payroll function. In addition to your work with the reports and data warehouses, we will also look to you to assist with our current needs in the area of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). 

You will spend the majority of your time analyzing, designing, coding and other hands-on activities. You will also provide software support to the application user community.

More specifically, you will: 
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Design,develop and test high quality database solutions on time that perform according to the specifications and requirements documented
  • Develop and support reports using SQL, PL/SQL, and Pentaho Kettle
  • Utilize expertise in database design of Oracle E-Business Suite to build efficient dashboards and reports
  • Identify and recommend changes to our databases to make them run more efficiently
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, validation rules and custom workflow
  • Participates in all aspects of the application life cycle; analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation.
  • Code, test and implement solutions using most appropriate tools based on design determined through collaboration with Enterprise Architect and Development Manager
  • Develop and support integration with other systems/applications/databases
  • Follow corporate system development life cycle, corporate style standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, governance and other related policies
  • Perform support of production applications by responding to service desk assignments, tracking problems/issues, and following up with customers
  • Support internally developed applications by addressing defects and coding and testing enhancements to existing systems
  • Work with business, IT Business Partner, Business Analyst to understand issues with software and develop solutions to resolve them
  • Develop and support reports requested by the business on vendor platforms
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor​
