The Role

You will develop custom reports using Crystal Reporting Services, and play an important role as we continue to implement and enhance a highly visible Network-wide billing/accounts receivable/operations system and a multiple-departmental Shared Service Center.

Reporting to the Operations Program Manager, you will join a team that includes five Developers/report writers and a Web Developer. This team focuses on a variety of operations systems, including a Client Information System, Fax/Scan technology and workflow management (Biscom including SQL databases), Internet and Intranet tools, and others. The environment is unique and there will be a learning curve, although you'll get support from team members and a good deal of documentation.

Your activities will include:
  • Working with the Operations Program manager and team to:
    • Develop/customize billing/accounts receivable/operations screens and Crystal Reports in accordance with the various state and Network requirements.
  • Working with the development team to design, write, test, and document required programming code based on business requirements.
  • Sharing knowledge of functional and technical information with other team members.
  • Accurately estimating the levels of effort to accomplish various reports, projects and tasks.
  • Providing technical support of the applications to the user community based on established protocols.
  • An opportunity to learn and utilize Sql Reporting Services to enhance systems that support our Shared Service Center.
This team is highly collaborative and you will divide your time between team and individual activities. In addition you will work with users, via phone and email, both to clarify needs and to provide technical support.

The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you must have solid experience developing in Crystal Reports, including Crystal Reports XI, and a strong understanding of the development lifecycle. Just as important will be your interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teammates and the user community. We're looking for a flexible professional who is open to acquiring new knowledge as well as learning new ways of applying existing knowledge.

In addition, you'll need:
  • An associate's degree; a bachelor's is preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to:
    • Analyze requirements and generate technical specifications.
    • Meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
    • Provide task estimates and then produce within those time estimates.
    • Be flexible and adaptable to the challenges of a unique environment with complex reporting needs.
    • Multi-task in a dynamic environment
    • Work as an individual contributor or in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Preferred but not required:
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience with Sql Reporting Services.
  • Experience using Crystal reports in creative ways.
  • Experience with Business Objects XI (BOXI).
